Archimandrite Elisaios, Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Simon Petra, has been a monk on Mount Athos since 1973 and in 2000 he succeeded Elder Emilianos as Abbot of the Holy Monastery. He participates in the administrative matters of Mount Athos, focusing on the protection, preservation and promotion of its spiritual, natural and cultural character and the transmission of its ecumenical message to the Orthodox world and beyond.
