Vasileios Chatzigiannakis is a lawyer before the Supreme Court of Greece, with twenty years of experience, member and manager of “Evangelos Chatzigiannakis Law Firm”. He holds a postgraduate degree from the National University of Athens in environmental, disaster and crisis management strategies and extensive experience and expertise in public procurement law, local authority law, environmental law and public law in general. He has collaborated with large public bodies, the European Investment Bank, a multitude of Municipalities and Regions and their legal entities, as well as private bodies.

He is a legal advisor in large PPP projects in waste management in Attica and Central Macedonia and has collaborated with the largest Solid Waste Management Bodies in Greece (Attica, Central Macedonia, Epirus, Crete, Thessaly, Achaia, Chania, Chios, Corfu, Livadia, etc.) in the context of implementing their development plans, implementing the principles of the circular economy and exercising their responsibilities properly. He has made dozens of appearances in the Council of State, the Ordinary Administrative Courts and the Court of Auditors on issues related to the implementation of waste management plans, environmental licensing, implementation of pricing policy, organization of administrative structures, construction of public works and infrastructure, procurement and provision of services in the fields of waste management and recycling using the appropriate legislative tools.

He is a speaker at seminars and a speaker at conferences on public procurement and waste management. He has authored the books “Legality Audits in Public Procurement” (Law Library, 2023) and “Economic Entities – The Right to Participate in Public Procurement” (Law Library, 2025). He frequently writes articles in legal journals such as Theory and Practice of Administrative Law, the Review of Public Law and Administrative Law, Jurisprudence of Public Works and the Environment and on the website nomarchia.gr.
